Home of the Duffle Coat, Gloverall take their expertise in coat making to new heights while expanding their collection to suit everybody. Gloverall produce a range of outerwear including Parkas, Chore Jackets, Peacoats, Chesterfields and Macs. Beyond the coats, you can compliment your style with knitwear and collaborations with the likes of Dawson Denim, Jake's Shirts and more.
Focusing on their outerwear though, I've been wanting a Duffle coat for years after seeing a good friend of mine where on with accomplishment. I never did end up getting one, but it's on my "to buy" list, so this winter might be the one. Gloverall actually started by selling surplus military duffle coats in 1951 – most famously worn by Field Marshal Sir Bernard Montgomery who has a model of Duffle coat named after him, the Monty.
The Iconic Duffle Coat
As mentioned above, Gloverall made their name selling surplus Duffle coats after the war. Following the success of selling those Duffle coats they went into production and and have cemented themselves as one of the best Duffle coat makers in the world – their name becoming synonymous with the Duffle coat. They took the more military style with jute and wooden toggles and upgraded to leather and horn toggle fastenings, making the Duffle more of a fashion piece which was duly adopted by the Mods.
Available in two lengths, Mid-Length and Long, you can choose from a variety of wool and colours.

The Classic Peacoat
Gloverall's Peacoat collection features classic navy designs as well as contemporary reinterpretations such as the longer Shackleton Peacoat. All their peacoats nod to their Naval background and have anchor buttons and chest height external pockets. I used to wear a peacoat for several winters and loved wrapping the lapels over for added protection from the wind, and flipping up the collar to wrap a heavy scarf. I think its only a matter of time that peacoats become popular again so get involved before its too late.
